About twenty units of this famous Rod McAlpine Downie Apache 41 design were build at Sailcraft Ltd. UK. A big family cruising catamaran from the 1960s, with lifting keels and a generous ketch-rig. Many of these designs have crossed oceans and they have a reputation for stability and safety. There is space for eight berths and two heads with full standing headroom on the bridgedeck. The elegant lines of this strong, beautiful and blue water tested catamaran remain iconic. This Apache 41 accommodates two couples or a family in comfort and safety. She sports an open interior with lots of storage space. Two staterooms, nav station, toilet/shower, pantry, full galley as well as a settee and a double pilot berth. Great model for long distance, long term cruising where efficiency and economy are a priority. Large cockpit is designed for living, dining, sleeping and pondering in the tropics. The current German owner sailed her on the North and Baltic Seas before cruising the Mediterranean Sea, where the family enjoyed the last summer seasons. Currently stored ashore in Greece (2024 storage paid) under canvas protection, available for viewings and to be handed over well maintained in good condition without additional maintenance-request, ready to sail anywhere in safety and comfort.
